Braves pitcher can get in-house legal advice

9:16 am, July 13th, 2010

Buried in the transcript of an interview between Abe J. Schear, Arnall Golden Gregory’s leasing practice chairman and resident baseball enthusiast, and Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson was this tidbit: Hudson’s wife, Kim, is a lawyer.

Schear interviewed the Hudsons for the July edition of his newsletter, “Baseball Digest.” He focused on Tim Hudson, who will be playing in today’s All-Star Game, and his memories of the game. But near the end, he asked Kim, “What adjectives would you use to describe Tim?”

“Honest, generous, faithful,” she said.

Schear responded, “That’s really the sign of a good listener and the attorney you are. I asked for adjectives and I only got adjectives.”

Her biography on the website of the Hudson Family Foundation says, “She graduated from Auburn in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminology. Kim then attended Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. She graduated from Cumberland in 2000 and passed the Alabama Bar. She practiced law for three years at Davis, McLaughlin, and Muncie in Auburn, Alabama.”
