Judge Charles Moye dies

Judge Charles A. Moye Jr., a senior judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, has died, according to a court official.
The Federal Judicial Center’s website reports the following biographical information about Moye:
He was born in 1918 in Atlanta.
He received his undergraduate and law degrees from Emory University, in 1939 and 1943, respectively. He was in private practice until 1970, when President Richard Nixon tapped him for a new seat on the federal court in Atlanta.
Moye served as chief judge from 1979 until 1987, and he took senior status in 1988.
