Hall County Superior Court judge honored by her peers

11:00 am, January 31st, 2013

Leadership through the budget challenges presented by the economic crisis and the push to create accountability courts led to recognition for Hall County Superior Court Judge Kathlene F. Gosselin, according to an announcement on the county’s website.

It noted that she was named this year’s recipient of the prestigious Emory Findley Award by her peers at the Council of Superior Court Judges’ winter conference in Athens on Jan. 24.

The county’s news bulletin said the judge’s group was “largely a social organization lacking in direction” until Atlantic Judicial Circuit Judge Findley took the helm in 1983.

The council gives the Emory Findley award annually to a judge who’s shown “outstanding judicial service in all areas, but particularly through service which has benefitted judges statewide.”
